Traditional Pende Mask were used in rituals and ceremonies to communicate with spirits. They feature incised, triangular grids and alternating dark and light pigments. This Pende Mask represents fine African craftsmanship and played an important role in the culture of the Pende people of the Congo area. In addition to ritual use, they would be used theatrically for show. This mask will make a distinctly African accent for any room. Each mask is unique. The mask measures approximately 4” to 6” wide and 8” to 11” long. Made in Cameroon.
